Spotted this special car at Motorex 2023! I believe it's the same car Brabham used in the demo race with Fangio at Sandown 10/09/1978, which was the day before Fangio helped release the Aussie 6.9 to the media.

Only 143 chassis between them and the earlier car (5398 - rusted out) saves the day! Now I have to clean the manifold thoroughly, replace the common failure points, plus delete the EGR discretely!

Two heads with one stone... My spare engine now becomes the next test bed for a new manifold. Plus the original & undamaged manifold goes on Red Bull.

After searching for years I finally got my steering wheel & switches/clock spring. And yes it will fit a late W116 or W126! It’s still a while off, but looking forward to a 6.9 with a 6 speed & paddle shifts! Hoping to add a W126 telescopic steering column too so the switch won’t be a dummy.
