Dear Martin
Very nice, for the complete wood look you also need the horn pad in matching timber.

Custom leather colour for the rim plus the wood bits would look a bit spesh.

if I had my way, this is how 116's would have left the factory,

I am not "bashing" w116's as Patrick Bateman would say I am, I just feel Mercedes could have done so much more for their flagship model, given it a dash like a Bentley, a Rolls Royce.

However, the entire dash top would be timber, horn pad timber,
the dials would have been 1930's ivory style, like this:

You know Des, I like the traditional British look of R-R and the such like however, I think that car in the photo is too much. The instrument cluster is lovely, well they are all lovely individually but , I feel they are fighting for attention. Even R-R use a black bakelite(?) steering wheel on the older models.

The wheel without the cluster or vice-versa, the gear lever is smart but without the gate.

It's all a question of personal taste and, for me, black plastic is just so 1970's that it's indispensible.

That wheel is my favourite though.
