Starts 1st time....

My 450SE has sat in a dark and lonely storage house (well actually it's a motor musem and it sat beside a Silver Cloud reputed to have been used by Sir Henry Bolte) since 25th Jan. A quick check of oil and water and turn the key. Needless to say, it started instantly and blew no smoke - just like a good 116 should. A little spirited drive on the way home reminded me just how tight the vehicle is - a sports saloon. It corners flat, it pulls with zeal - most satisfying.

Yeah, it's so satisfying when your 116 does that isn't it B....BenzBoy - and indeed it must mean the motor's pretty darn healthy

My 280SEL can sit for weeks and starts instantly as well. It always puts a smile on my face. I try not to let it sit for weeks of course...

In fact I'm taking it for a run this afternoon.

didn't have to charge the battery at all?

Your battery and alternator also must be in very good order,
