It is my understanding that Mark will be re-locating his business activities to Singapore in the near future. Accordingly, he has asked me to find a buyer for his Silver Green 6.9.

Mark bought the car from me some two years ago after I had spent a heap of money on it to bring it up to good condition.

It came with receipts totalling some $15k. that had been spent by the previous owner over the preceding two years., and that figure did not include a good quality re-spray at some stage - not sure when. For some reason, his car came with details of a replacement engine having been fitted during that 2 year period - it was a low mileage unit (about 69k. kilometers) and had done another twenty odd after fitment to his car when I acquired it.

On account of an apparent valve problem on No. 4 cylinder, I handed the car to Merc specialists to have heads etc. removed and a valve grind and tidy-up carried out.

We also refurbished the interior with brand new orange bamboo seat covers bought from GAHH (that EXPENSIVE mob !) and these were fitted by Parks.

Mark's car has full Australian compliance, the suspension is working well, and he is asking $20,000 which is less that what the car has cost him. If anyone wishes to obtain further details, please feel free to contact me. For reasons of impartiality (on account of my considerable involvement) it is suggested that any prospective purchaser have an independent inspection carried out by someone familiar with 6.9's. Regards, Styria

Okay guys, I am bumping this thread because Mark is now advertising the car on Carsales.com.

He is asking for top money, but then again he paid same for it. Believe, at the $20k. mark, he is not making a profit, nor is he asking in excess of what the car has cost him.

We re-furbished part of the interior, primarily the seats in Bamboo Orange. Carpets are original. Okay, it's a fair chunk of money, but it is also a far chunk of a car. I spent a lot of money on getting this car right as it could be without being 'stupid' - engine and box should be excellent, we fixed rust as we knew it, but cannot give any warranty nor guarantee regarding its overall condition nor value. It is certaionly worthwhile looking at it. Regards Styria

It looks excellent and well worth the money. Unfortunately, my bank balance and credit is dedicated to the PII for the next few years - otherwise, this is the type of car that would most certainly interest me.
For what it appears to be I for one do not think it is overpriced - more likely, it is a bargain. I am out of the market though.

BenzBoy

I still have to fix my 6.9 itch some time, and it would be the perfect match for my Crayford, as that will be back to it's original Silver Green next year.
Unfortunately, I can't justify another car just yet, especially at $20K.

I have reason to believe that the car has now changed hands at $17,000 - to go to a new home in Brisbane.

Believe it or not, it makes my Astral Silver quite a bargain buy....hmm. Regards Styria

The 25K car looks a good one.

Immediate criticisms from a picky P***K

1) 126 steering wheel
2) Non-original alternator (Might be a good thing)
3) That little plastic clip that holds the cruise control cable is missing off the aircleaner horn.

It's nice to see prices curving upwards but they are still in the area of owner's spending more on their cars than returned on sale.

I hope it goes to a good home.

Hi guys, I haven't been able to find either of the two cars on the Internet - would there be a chance of someone posting the details ? I'd like to see how the Milan Brown 6.9 shapes up. Incidentally, it has the high compression Euro engine fitted - the car was originally exported to New Zealand and I have reason to believe it was the only 6.9 ever to be delivered new to NZ.

The owner of the car wanted his car to be just about perfect, but obviosly there is a limit that has to be applied, and the steering wheel fell victim to that limit. He was going to fit the real super duper Burr/Leather combo in due course, but economics are not helping in that regard. Probably the main reason why the car is on the market. Regards Styria
