It is utterly surprising how so similar this story relates to the purchase/restoration of a car that the owner has had some childhood involvement with. I can readily think of one person/owner that restored his 6.3 despite the fact that it was total lossed as a result of theft and subsequent mishap involving a somewhat solid tree. Damage was such that even the gearbox tunnel was buckled.
The owner decided to rebuild and refurbish the car - why ? Because when his father owned the car (bought new by him), it would appear that he was sleeping on the rear parcel shelf as a baby, with the car travelling at 100 miles per hour. So there you go. I do hope that you guys will appreciate the story that is about to unfold - of all places, in Iceland. Regards Styria
