    Car industry trends towards SUV

I got this from the car industry analysis twitter feed. Stats are for USA but I think Australia would be similar, probably hatchback higher and pickup lower. The move from sedans, wagons and people carriers to SUVs is stark.

    The Derby Bentley

This car looks nice. https://vandp.net/sales/1739/1935-derby-bentley-4-25-litre-top-hat-saloon-by-freestone-and-webb/ This is B185EJ. I normally prefer originality, but the modifications on this car would seem to make it more usable - the MKVI conrods, uprated pistons and taller rear end...

    Youngtimer Sacco Day

I attended the Youngtimer Sacco day event today. Basically a celebration of the cars designed by Bruno Sacco. Great event and excellent turnout. A few pictures plus click the link for more: https://www.classicjalopy.com/2020/11/youngtimer-sacco-day-2020/

    6.9 Transmission Upgrade

Personally I wouldn't want to lose the LSD with all that torque. Even a 450 can be a be a bit of a handful with an open diff.

    6.9 Transmission Upgrade

I think the other change is that 6.9s are now worth more than they used to be, and unmodified cars are worth a lot more than modified. So you could end up spending $10k for this change and then loose $5k of the value of your car. A 2.47 diff would be hard to find in LSD, as you would need...

W126 UK Price and option list

The 500E board has a great UK spec price and options list for the W126. It is after the move to the soft leather interior, so I guess 1989-1991. https://www.500eboard.co/forums/threads/c126-v126-factory-options-price-list.2125/ File also attached here Some of the options are pretty...

    560sec ece

The radiator started leaking from the top tank on the SEC, so I have a new one. While I am at it, I have seen random warm air come on with the A/C. Looks like classic monovalve failure. Challenge is that the genuine and Bosch monovalves are pretty much impossible to get and the alternative...

    Car of the week

I love a red interior. Obviously a respray from the strange position of the model designation. https://www.lloydsonline.com.au/LotDetails.aspx?smode=0&aid=18230&lid=2374264&pgn=1&pgs=100

New 84 500SEL owner - some timing chain advice please!

It's a good idea to do the chain. Here is a link to an older thread on this job, some of the part numbers may be slightly different for a 500vs a 450 but they are both M117's and you'll need to change all the same parts even if there are minor differences...

    W126 Exhaust Performance Upgrades

I wonder if it is a series 1 vs Series 2 thing? Here is my car next to a Series 1 SEC. A bit hard to see because of the angle of the photo, but it does not look like the cut out is there. I suspect the AMG thing is bragging rights at cars and coffee!

    W126 Exhaust Performance Upgrades

Those tips are great, much better than the horrible thing on my SEC.
