Yeah it’s pretty radical & not likely to become reality. I’m quite aware the car has many rare options, so I’m reluctant to go changing anything that cannot be easily undone. Wheels can be changed but not body mods

And this is the look I’m aiming for with the possibility I’ll try different wheels until I’m happy with the result. AI added the guard vents which I found too hard to remove!

Maybe one day she’ll look like this?? I have a few sets of wheels to choose from but I have to go easy with other mods…

My experience has show the w116 to be extremely rigid to the point I have been able to lift a whole car on one jack stand and a trolley jack (not intentional it just happened)! There was no noticeable distortion in the chassis during the process. Any other car of the era would bend like a banana...

FYI 1L metho to 20L petrol is 5% alcohol & 2L is obviously 10%. Another downside is you’re no longer referred to as a petrol head; you shall now be known as a meth head!! Lol

Very interesting topic! Funny I’ve been put off BP fuel since I spied an interesting label on a 91ron bowser. Very sneaky labeling for a blend that should’ve been cheaper… I vowed to never use BP again! However I’ve always liked the smell of Top Fuel racing fuel which I believe is highly toxic...

Perhaps the Benz cams are not as retarded as they appear since 2mm is 0.07874” so they’re measured at a higher lift? I wonder if I can work out what they’d be at 0.050” to compare more accurately?

Google says that equates to about 3hp at the wheels… free of charge!
