    6.9 Transmission Upgrade

We (in the Chevy fraternity) tend to use T350 as a straight replacement and upgrade from a 2speed Powerglide because of the simplicity of the exchange. Same size and same spline! T400 were in demand when you had serious horsepower to deal with. :D

    6.9 Transmission Upgrade

My T700 was out of a VN V8 with cable shift. The 4speed auto in the Rolls Royce is an old GM design (from the fifties) that was fitted to the Cloud series I, II & III as well as Bentleys' SI, SII and SIII.

    6.9 Transmission Upgrade

The TurboHydro 400 (T400) by GM and the Torqueflite 727 (T727) by Chrysler are bullet proof boxes. However, they are only 3 speed...

    6.9 Transmission Upgrade

I have a T700 behind my 454-powered 62 Chev wagon. That big block produces some serious torque, trust me. ;) In my opinion, unless you are planjing to modify it, the 6.9 can be easily handled by the T700 ;)

    6.9 Transmission Upgrade

One needs to find the right mechanic (lateral thinker) who can adapt it and then affix a computer to the wiring and make it work reliably! I feel 5 speeds should be a HUGE leap in performance in a stock 6.9

What does an E55 or C63 use? Surely one of those would have enough strength to take the torque...

    Rover just for styria

I have to agree with Tony. The 2.2, while might be ok to tour Tassie or drive about, is the equivalent to having a 6cyl in a W116 versus a V8. Nothing like a 3.5 in one!

Just for Tarek's benefit, these are some images of the Rover #-litre and 3.5-litre. Also the Coupe, which was really a four door with a beautiful roofline.

Thank you all for the kind words.. This is a pic of the Red Terror taken outside the office with the old iPhone prior to even washing/cleaning/polishing etc. I'll have some more after Sunday :D

    The Red Terror is Home!

After a few months of on and off work, the RedTerror came home yesterday. I was sitting at my desk and suddenly the sound of 6.9 litres of thunderous exhaust and engine rumble filled the air. Shiny bright red with sparkling chrome wheels, it was simply gorgeous as it cruised past and into the...

    W107 Heater/Air conditioning

I would start the car and let it warm up. Then change the levers positions one at a time and see if there is a difference.

    W107 Heater/Air conditioning

Ok.. let's try and think. Have you had the car for long? If, yes, then when and how did this problem start? If you just got the car recently, or not that long, play with the levers the other way around... You might be surprised..

Are you sure there is no leak? I would get the A/C guy to come and check the gas first.
