Basically remove clamps at the radiator for top & bottom hoses plus the bleeder hose and the heater hose at the tap. Drain old coolant then reconnect hoses without clamps & refill with fresh water. Pull off lower hose at radiator to allow coolant to rapidly drain. Do this several times...

Yes I’ve just flushed mine & I use various techniques. It’s actually quite easy but messy & you don’t want to rush it

Have a look at the coolant expansion tank! I'd say that's definitely the lost McLaren M8F #4!!

Near the engine mounts on both sides I believe. Easy access? Highly doubtful....

Some stills from the video revealing the manifold. Not vastly different from a standard 6.3, but fitted in reverse with perhaps a larger diameter & shorter snout. The airfilter was rather compact & likely restrictive.

I find it surprising the CW311 wasn’t a 6.8L. Despite that, the power is much higher than a regular 6.3 with a intake manifold which isn’t vastly different. Something doesn’t make sense. Oh and I was just viewing a video showing the car being assembled & transported in the AMG Mampe truck...

I find it highly unlikely they added turbos to the car & later removed them in favour of the aftermarket stacks. More likely something that was planned but never undertaken. I’d say their focus moved the the M117 & DOHC versions.

Straight from the manual... Despite the heater connections being rather irrelevant to coolant flow & engine cooling, I still believe the back cylinders would benefit from passages directly back to the water pump inlet.

Probably discontinued the same time they stopped supplying dipsticks.... You can’t treat a trans like a diff & almost never change the fluid. Far more moving parts with very tight tolerances so having a fresh oil supply is critical. The mere fact they have a filter indicates they require regular...

The silver lining is I got to it before it got any worse. If it had eaten into the inlet runner on number 8 it would’ve been game over 😱😳

Out of curiosity I checked & cleaned the inlet manifold corrosion. The hole is far worse than it looked initially. Clearly the heater connect was totally blocked yet the hose & heater tap seem clean & clear. I have no idea why the blockage formed in that area which might’ve caused isolated...

So in order to get the pump out I’m faced with 2 options & either one isn’t overly appealing: 1) remove the balancer. Requires a flywheel lock, 50mm socket & damn long bar. Buy or borrow a VERY strong puller, 2) remove the water pump larger housing with the pump as one unit. Requires removal...

Currently having fun getting the water pump off.... There’s a bolt right at the bottom that you can’t even see!! Strange there’s cutouts in the balancer so you get to the bolt, however you can’t remove the pump with the balancer fitted!! WTF why??? 🤷🏻‍♂️
