Yes I’d only consider a hybrid but it seems to me the PHEVs do have issues with practicality. The new Nissan ‘concept’ seems logical but I wouldn’t call it radically economical to make it a worthwhile exercise. I’m leaning towards a Mazda, but only if it drives well & is practical in the real world

Who cares how it looks when it sounds that good lol?? Really my point of posting (apart from the interest factor), is that in every one of the V8 models lies the potential to sound that good….

I did sell it but agreed to help the new owner get it running. I’ll have to audit what bolts can be reused & what must be replaced

I’m currently trying to decide what might be a good option for a daily. PHEV or maybe the new Nissan ePower?? Based on fuel savings alone, it could take BW 19-35 years to pay off the investment, so I doubt I’ll be upgrading anytime soon but rapid tech developments are no doubt interesting.

Yes I might be able to get some new bolts. One of the threads has been damaged so much I may have to double helicoil that one!! Ie an oversized helicoil before the correct size is inserted

No doubt lots of intake & exhaust mods with different cams & lightened valve train & rotating mass. Seems the possibilities were endless before they pulled the plug. I feel this car was the predecessor to the Sauber Mercedes C8 & that Melcher from AMG may have been involved

I’m about to purchase a tap & die set to chase n clean all threads. I’m wondering if all bolts should be replated & not just cleaned prior to reassembly? I’m not keen on them re-corroding, seizing & snapping again in the future…

Latest pix. I have to drill out & helicoil two bolt holes since they were butchered by someone else (at least the broken bolts have been removed now).
