The little orange buttons are for seat warmers, some cars just have them for the fronts, or in this car's case, rears as well.

I was actually referring to the dial at the end of the console. I seem to remember reading about a fuel preheater for extremely low temperatures.

you mean the one just under the armrest?

That is for some 1970's German traffic radio reporting system.
Obsolete now.

I am guessing one would be an outside temp gauge, no idea about a second one though.........

Maybe 1 is a line out, and 1 is a line in (1 answers, 1 disconnects), I know in the 80's the mobile network was still calling an opperator to connect a call, the phone cradle is only sitting on a rest on the console.

I like that set-up...

I recall back in the 70s "Street Machiners" (modifyers) were trying different things and one of them was fake telephones....

But I don't recall anyone putting a round dial alone...

If we are talking about the first picture, looks pretty real to me.
No doubt there is a big box in the boot for all the phone electronics...
