Excellent videos - particularly the one on the Gold 6.9. It may well be information that's been covered many times before, but this video just seems to have it all....and whatsmore, you have posted the thread in the most appropriate section of TK. Thanks sincerely. Regards Styria

Lovely write-up, bordering on the realms of fact, and not nearly so much on artificial fiction, normally associated with tests of new cars. It just misses out on the details of gearbox modifications. I have some knowledge as far as Auto boxes are concerned, and I'd dying to know just what mods can be applied to deliver a more sporting gearbox. Maybe Sean Sherry with all his knowledge might be able to put further 'oomph' into this excellent article. What a well shared story. Regards. Styria

A great colour Helmet !! Matches my eyes.

The oomph of an Auto Box is mostly down to the Torque Converter.
Whether it is " tight" or " loose". Mercedes Converters , at least in my
4 speed Unit , are pretty good. To make mine more "Drivable" I have set the shift points higher mainly to get a part throttle Kick Down, instead of the Box hanging on to 4th gear till the death. Probably more necessary with my 6 cyl. engine which has a lot less torque than the large V8s.
