What happens to metal at 60 below ? I always understood that it just broke as it became very brittle. I have just watched on Fox-tel a trip across Siberia 2000ks in a local Four X Four. Average Temperature was 40 to 60 below.
No metal fatigue... no breakdowns. Don't ever switch off the Engine they were told or you will never start it again ! !
