Blowing the cobwebs

After passing Styria's Fiefedom I crossed with the Ferry and decided to kill or cure a noise in the Turbo Golf that was coming in at 2500 Revs. Sounded like a light bearing rattle with a slight harshness up the Rev. range. I had noticed this a while ago, Turning right along the water way to Peats Ridge, the road is winding and fast in places, so driving up and down from near idle and between 5 & 6000 Revs in 2nd and 3rd gears for about half an hour. Problem solved ! Engine feels freer, smoother, and the rattle noise gone . 8000Ks on Odo with a recent Service using VW Spec. Oil.

Apparently it is the waste gate arm rattling. New clip should fix this and if not "tighten the waste Gate arm" Maybe I gave it a big fright ! Still two years warranty left if needed.
