Wow Benz Boy, how good would that be - could it be a fluke ? If so, that'd be incredible. I hope it's a good lead. Regards Styria

Sadly, it is not 136 PY. It is 109 SK.
Thanks Motec for trying so hard - I had hoped it was the car we sought but, well, not quite yet.
Regards,
Brian

So BenzBoy, what is the difference between 136 PY and 109 SK, other than the numbers ? To my uninitiated and unknowing eye, they look the same. Regards Styria

N.B. Have you ever considered an alternative to finding that sister car ? In other words, how about you letting all and sundry know about the car that you own - I am talking about auction houses, the premium old Rolls Royce dealers and specialists, maybe the odd mechanical workshop that specializes on these old models etc. etc., and perhaps let the owner of the sister car contact you, rather than you doiung all the searching and hard work. Just a thought. As you know, you have often indicated that Rolls Royce owners are very private, and public shy, so there perhaps lays your answer. Regards Styria

There are many differences - 118 PY has concealed hinges, concealed petrol filler, swaged in side lamps, a slightly different roof height etc. Probably the dimensions are different - that's hard to confirm from a photo. 118 PY is 6 wheel equipped, 109 SK has the spare mounted on the rear boot etc. 118PY has weather deflectors above the windows and 109 SK has none.....
I have advertised world-wide for 136 PY, including all the places you suggest but it disappeared after the last known owner died in the 1980s. It will be sitting somewhere in a private collection.
Regards,
Brian

Dear Motec - I'll need time to go through these. The last car in the last post is a my own of course - it's from my album. Interestingly, the first photo in the first post is almost identical to 118PY in that it has the side lamps moulded into the front guards - I need to look closer later in the day.
Regards,
Brian
