Believe it or not, it took more than a casual look for me to realize that the car pictured is in fact a 6.9 - not only that, but its condition is quite exemplary. It is evident that the car's owner is quite fastidious in getting and maintaining the car's condition to its present level and beyond. Looking at the lustre and shine of the leather upholstery indicates plenty of conditioning of the leather being subject to, and one can easily forgive the slight degradation of the pleats of the front seats. 6.9s invariably experience significant problems with the upholstery of the rear seat cushion, but the photographs do not show that area. Bryce, any details of location of this meet as there are obviously quite a number of participants ?
I also noticed the increased rear height clearance of the suspension and this can be corrected fairly easily by adjusting the length of the levelling rod on the rear suspension valve.
There are a couple of interesting details under the bonnet but, all in all, this is a splendid car. Regards Stgyria

This photo was taken at the MB Club event celebrating 140 years of Mercedes-Benz and the new S-Class.
There were two 6.9s on display on the day.

Thank you Bryce. Great to see such a variety of models on display. As a matter of interest, did you manage to snap a picture of the other 6.9 - if not, do you recall what colour it was ? BTW, what is the proper spelling of colour - this one or color. I am confused. Regards Styria

The manufacture of that Saab goes back to 1977 - at least, as indicated by those road wheels that were exclusive to the Saab, and it was also the model that was just about the first of any mass produced car that had a turbo charged engine. I well remember the cars being on display in the showrooms of Alec Mildren located at Pymble on Sydney's upper North Shore - now long gone. Alec Mildren, if I call correctly an ex Racing Driver of some note, also ran a dealership close by to Haberfield along Parramatta Road, mainly concentrating on Alfa Romeos.

At the time, one of the cars I noticed for sale was a Lancia Flaminia SEDAN (very rare) midnight blue in color. Ah yes, the Lancia Flaminia with either the 2.8 or 3.2 litre V6, with the propellor shaft being bolted to the rear of the engine, and then being fitted to the gearbox/differential transaxle with Inboard disc brakes and de Dion rear suspension, as was the tour de force for some exotics of the '50s, as well as some Formula 1 racing cars. Mildren had a price of $3000.00 on the car, but it was a slipping clutch that stopped me from buying it. It had great suspension and a very torquey engine - I guess I picked the slipping clutch when THAT torquey engine would just gather revs without the car responding to throttle input. Regards Styria
