trying to pull fenders off my 450 sel, what is the solution, i tried a torch and every thing at my disposal and it is stuck on tight, almost have to use jack hammer, there has got to be a better way, if you know what is it? thanks

Hi Arcijack - I can relate to your problems. As Helmet indicated, the Company uses a type of foam that is glue impregnated. When Jerry, Michel's body man painted Gleaming Beauty, part of the deal was that the front guards (fenders) would be replaced. In an effort to remove them, they were virtually destroyed. One of those jobs you don't want to do too often. Regards Styria

Just spoke to a friend of mine at a Mercedes body shop. He says that if original you cannot remove them without damaging them :eek:

finally got one off, but the heat warp the metal a little, the next one i'm going to spray muratic acid to see if it will dissolve the foam, whew!!!!!!!!!!
