Not so sure if a Diesel version is going to give this car the lift it needs to attract a buyer. What is somewhat disturbing, although I shouldn't be surprised, is the total collapse of the market when one looks at other Mercedes models for sale. It's total annihilation as far as prices are concerned.
All you can do is to ask yourself why. Is it the high cost of servicing and the high cost of parts ? Is it the perceived notion of unreliability that the cars manufactured round about the Year 2000 have built up ? I simply don't know. Prior to us settling on the Honda Jazz as Julie's car, I really wanted to buy a B200, but I chickened out. Another was a CLK (I think that's what they call them), but again cost of servicing, cost of spares, got the better of my, or I should say, our desires. Yet, and let me make this quite clear, the 420SEL is the most reliable car I have ever owned - bar none. Regards. Styria
