Doing some maintenance on the Red Terror today (plugs, belts, etc...) uncovered a cracked vacuum ‘something’ see pic below.
I know it has something to do with the heater valve.
Can someone enlighten me as to where I can get my hands on one of those ?
Are they available new?

Many thanks 😁

I'm not familiar with the W116 heating, but on the W126 there are pods just like this in the dash to control the various flaps for the HVAC.

They are still available for the W126 at least, and I would assume W116 as well.

Looks like someone’s used a 126 pod to replace the 116 heater tap vac cell. I’d say you just need a new heater tap....

Send and email with that pic and your VIN to Tom at the classic centre, he'll identify the part and get it to you in 3 days.

Hi Michel, sure you can a new heater valve here. As mentioned about it looks like the plastic diaphragm has been modified to metal one. A new heater tap is now one piece and completely plastic.

Hi Michel, Helmet's ebay link for that unit is excellent, especially considering its price. I obviously have not seen the set-up on your car so am not sure if purchase of the plastic unit will be straight forward. Whilst working in thar area, consider replacement of the two water hoses at the back of the engine. The unit located on the passenger side is strictly 6.9 only and may be difficult to obtain.

If I feel well enough, I would be happy to call over at some time. Regards Styria

It doesn’t even look like the pod was connected!
