Well I have to eat my words ! My SL sold through Unique Cars and I got my price. Went to a decent Guy from up the North Coast who had been looking for quite a while for a rust free Car.
And now following Brian's advice .. my MK V11 Golf is a 6 speed Manual.

Probably won't get another old Car as they are now much younger than I am !!

And for Christmas in July ( still on ? ) Little Wifey says I can still Drive our C Class. So all is not lost !!
