Hi guys, I never cease to be amazed the extent of deterioration so many 6.9's have been allowed to fall into - after all, this was a luxury car when new, priced on a par with Rolls Royce, and you just have to ask yourself why, and what sort of owners would the cars get into that condition. Regards Styria
Well you wouldn't think the first owner, or the second but maybe the 5th?
As all cars get cheaper and cheaper they generally fall into the hands of people who are living outside their means, can't afford repairs, drive them into the ground.
At the time in Australia the 6.9 was around $89,000, you could buy 3 very nice houses here in Tassie for that same amount of money.
A very serious outlay in dollars.
Would be equlivant to spending 400-500k maybe more on a car today. You don't get much change on a roller from a cool 1 mill
2 nice houses these days, prices have gone up sharply over the last few years,
you get people who move down from Sydney, sell their 600-700k house, buy a 220-250k house here, and drive the prices up.
A good example my cousin was telling me about where she lives in Oatlands, a small country down in the middle of Tasmania, houses there 10 years ago were selling for 30-40k, now they are 130-140k and going up fast!!
