But speed limited to 250 unless you pay AMG option pack to remove it and it is done in stages first 270 then 290 to finally I believe 310 or 320. Depending on the model and I read somewhere Mercedes Australia does not offer these options in Australia. That may have changed but I doubt it in this nanny state country. :D:p:eek:

You would not want to waste your money on these options here.
There are no roads or tracks where you can do more than 250km/h safely and comfortably for more than a few seconds.
While in Germany, there are many autobahns where you can reach 250km/h and stay there for 10-20min or more and where you get overtaken at those speeds as if you were standing still.

Hi Michel I agree having been to Germany a few times. Just watch for light flashing if you are to slow. :D Mind you 200 in a Polo felt fast enough.

Anyway, the interior looks pretty flash! I would want to see it in real life before deciding though. I recently had the opportunity to judge the interior of an almost new Bentley beside that of a Phantom and although both look flash in a photo only one stood out in reality for quality and craftsmanship. No; it wasn't the Bentley. Having been disappointed by the real-life interior of a large Lexus, I would want to see, feel and smell the S Class interior before saying more ...
Regards,
Brian

Hi Brian was the Bentley the Continental which is based on Audi platform or the Mulsane which is built in the same factory by same workers as your Silver Spirit 11 . But personally having seen one in the flesh the Jaguar XJ has the best interior in new cars. Pity the c pillar is unresolved. http://www.carpoint.com.au/news/201...4Nzg2JlFwYj0xJnNpZD0xNDg4ODUzQzVDQjkmTm5lPTE1
It was the Continental V12 - built in Crewe. I don't think too many people who built my SII are still alive. It's now 21 years old and many have retired or passed on.

Brian

Yes but the Mulsane is built the same way in the same factory. The Continental is manufactured body in white in Germany and assembled in Crewe. It is built and priced to compete with high end BMW and Mercedes so is specked accordingly. Mulsane was built as Phantom/Maybach competitor but by time of release only Phantom was its competitor. :D

It is even more complex than that - Oz Benzes are speed limited to 210Km/hr as they come out of the box. I am not sure about AMG models but certainly the rest say it in the book.

The interior of that Coupe is similar to my car with the exception of the steering wheel and some trim detail on the door - except mine is in black of course.

It still smells nice every time you get in and mine was proably about half the price that that coupe will be when landed here.

I also have the comfort of a dealer with whom I have dealt for 25 years and who usually looks after me to my satisfaction.

Cheers

Bill

I have to agree there its why since being in Perth I have bought 6 cars from same dealer . They were decent to me when I moved and had a problem with a car I had bought in Adelaide . :)
