Hi Tony, I've not had the opportunity to properly look at their webpage. If you can really recommend them, would you like to transfer your post, or make special mention of their work, in the "Recommendation" section ? As I said, haven't looked at their site (well, not closely) and I am wondering if they are Australia wide or just in Victoria. Regards Styria

Aus wide, good dealer network, they fit, supply and fit or even repair if you wish but at $180 retail for most front glass they are cheap enough.

I have their retail prices here too somewhere so I'll upload the PDF.

Price and app listing

Right mouse click on the link below and select "Save link as" if you want to download the PDF catalogue, or click on it if you are happy to open the cat in a new tab.

Hi Tony, thank you for that most comprehensive information. Obviously they are using sub-contractors and it will be interesting to see what sort of price, and quality, the local one here in Sydney is able to provide. They trade as Total Windscreens in the Northern Sydney area. Thanks again. Styria

My pleasure Styria, Some are contractors and some are franchises.

They also have a UV layer option on some screens and this Ive found reduces the heat of the sun immensely, always a bonus on older cars.

Just a refresh, I recently had my Volvo's Screen replaced with the UV block option as an added bonus and it has made driving into the sun a far safer proposition.

Not only does it seem to take the sting out of the sun but it also reduces glare at night and in wet conditions.

the only drawback is that auto darkening prescription lenses dont work behind it lol

Oh and the SEL is next for a screen although im tossing up if I should buy a screen with a tint band and black border although the black border has an area that shades you from sun between the sun visors that is very handy.

Pics and prices when I get her done.

Seeing you raised the topic.
I've noticed a small stone chip in my widscreen as well as a "milking" look around the corners.
Thought I might replace it, rather than have it repaired.
Whilst I don't know what price a new windscreen commands, I would assume $200+ or thereabouts should cover it. ( I think my state RACV quoted me that about 2 years ago when I was talking to the serviceman)

My question is, what are my options and is there any screen that is better/worse/cheaper/dearer than the other?
Apart from asking for a replacement windscreen to be installed is there anything else I should be enquiring about?
The only thing I'm certain of is that it will be an "Aussie" sourced product not genuine MB.

Im a recent convert to triple laminate tuffglass as I cop a few chips every year and protector say their premium grade screens are far more resistant to this so id be looking at that product.

I had one fitted to the volvo for under $300 not too long ago and it has copped a few rocks already and survived fine.

I think the OEM Benz glass is also a better quality and definitely thicker so this would be on par wit the premium non gen glass but the nest way to find out is to call them.

Some insurance companies (Shannons for sure) give a free windscreen replacement every year, without losing any no-claim bonus.

Very true but you cant option premium glass and in something like a 116 id want no black border and possibly no tint strip either.

I know the border is mainly for urethane bonded screens but id like to see mine without.

Call me fussy lol

Anyway at around the $250 mark its not really a huge amount to fork out and the savings created by the AC not having to work its bum off to negate the UV heat will offset any extra PLUS they claim it will help protect your dash etc.

Much as I love Shannons like any insurance company you get nothing for nothing!

Just back to Protector for a sec, I did notice their installers were very professional and tidy too.

The last guy even had an assortment of trim clips incase he broke one removing mouldings (Which he did).
