There has always been that mystique that can be lavished on this Lancia, and many other models as well from that manufacturer. I recall going very close to purchasing a Flaminia Saloon probably thirty five years ago. It was $3000.00 (good money in those days), but a slipping clutch got the better of me.
So let's look at this Aurelia GT. It is quite attractive in a sort of masculine way, but just look at the specifications - V6 back in 1951, Inboard drum brakes (a curse ?) next to the transaxle arrangement that included gearbox and differential as one unit. That was very sophisticated engineering, perhaps even by today's standards, and I could well imagine the pleasure one would derive from owning one of these exceedingly attractive cars.
