Been told it is a rover V8 in Hugo, would prefer a 6.9 in a MB hotrod, all polished and detailed

A rover V8 is based on a Buick 215CID of the early 60s design.
Very light (alloy) and very compact.
It is an ideal engine for early rods

You know a Ponton would look good "hotted" up, I don't mean nice ones like yours but old crappy ones, respray, beef up the chassis, small V8 like that Rover engine, big wheels,

I agree with you..

Although there would be a fair bit of engineering to do, you still end up with a cheap street machine of excellent quality and value.
