Looks in great nic. The interior console / dash looks pristine.

Thoughts on the KM's?? Y'all reckon they're genuine?

Car looks pretty good, hard to tell about the mileage, I notice some good points,

appears to be an uncracked dash
blue tint on glass appears unfaded,
interior generally looks pretty good.


however,
needles seem quite faded
wheels have been repainted,
has had a detail to improve the overall image of the car.


may well be a good example

I can take a picture of a car I haven't washed in 12 months and I think it will still give an honest view of the car.

Agreed des, a detail / wash will improve the overall image. But I guess you can never really tell the 'honesty' of a car until you see it in the flesh....steel.

mate I don't like to taut my own trumpet all the time, but look at the pictures I recently posted of my 280CE, you would think my looking at the pictures the paintwork was perfect, brightt shiney chrome work etc..a near concourse car, its not, while its not a bag of bolts it has imperfections, few rust spots here and there, chrome work needs a really good clean. A few chips in the paintwork etc..I have noticed that pictures generally make cars look better than what they are, not the other way around.

Ether inspect in person or trust the person you are buying off.

Paint is a bit cloudy around the body, but from someone that has seen it and recently sold a very good 450SEL themselves, it is a better than average car. That dealership is a good place here to get a decent car, chances are its either a good one or a consignment car. Bought my 1st Benz from this bloke too.

Hearing ya!! The green 450 I bought from sydney without viewing... (ol' smokey) was slightly disappointing when i got there. The photo's made it look GREAT for $500. But when I got there and saw the foot wells filled with water in the back and the cancerous rust in several areas - i was a little upset. but oh well, the car did me well in parts.

But yeah, inspect or buy from a trusted seller.

Jerry tidied all the body on it and it's not bad mechanically.
It needs the driver's side fixed and carpet..
It has Bundts on it

Hmmmm.... don't tempt me Michel (i'm guessing you're serious?!)
My goal for the next month is to get the Fordedes engineered as a daily driver. I really need to focus my energy on that.

I rekon start at 6k, you wont be needing the rego or safety cert. That counts for something as well (hopefully $ in your pocket) unless you want to fly a virgin and drive home.
