You are dead right Geoff. - the little Honda is very dear and near in the family. She who must be obeyed has christened her 'Daisy', and she is a delight to drive. Only drawback, such as it is, torque is non-existent,with the box changing down gears very quickly. Because we think we don't want to over rev the little engine, with 3K. to 3.5K. revs being a self imposed limit, everything on the road passes you - but we always catch up on the flat surfaces.:D

I must admit Geoff, it took me a a little while to work out the error of the photograph - here I kept looking for the 6 cylinder engine conversion, thinking all the time how on earth they would have fitted the Falcon unit under the bonnet of the Jazz ! What is it they say ? There was one born every day - or when the Almighty handed out the goodies, I wasn't paying any attention. Regards. Styria

As I said add is for a Falcon it looks like a Jazz to me. :D

Most Honda engines are high revving so I would not worry about using 75% of the available range so long as oil is always fresh and of high quality - with a self-imposed limit of 3500 rpm you might never wear out the engine though. I guess longevity is your aim though?

Well of course longevity is a consideration although I believe that the engine is fool proof well above 200K. in mileage. No, I am just a considerate driver, and I have respect for all things mechanical. Besides, Daisy is Julie's pride and joy, and I really don't see any merit in wringing its neck just to outaccelerate or keep up with traffic away from the lights.

I think you could rate me as a fast, and quick, but not hard driver and, as you know, there is a difference. Michel knows my style of driving, and I am sure he would concur with my remarks. Daisy's oil is changed at the recommended mileage intervals, and presently the speedo reads about 17.5K. (kms) with three oil changes having been carried out. Another service due in September. N.B. As a matter of interest, valve timing is maintained by a timing chain - not belt driven, and it has a (supposed) working life of 300K. That's what we were told by Trivett's Service Department.
