I can't help but agree with you guys. Whenever I have seen the Bimmer, I'm thinking "how on earth could you make it so ugly", and that sentiment would or will be similar to the Mercedes being illustrated, the Range Rover Evoque (argh....ug.ug.ugly), the Lexus SUV (don't I dislike the styling of some of those Japanese SUVs), and as far as I am concerned, you could throw them all in together (styling wise) with the Ssang Song Yong (whatever) Stavic/Stavric and decide which is the ugliest.........
As you would be aware, I have criticised some styling issues with some of the Coupes. I wish I could be more specific in relation to the model involved. Like high back, low collapsed looking front end - just all out of proportion. It's all a corporate styling theme - wait till they come to the end of this line of thinking, and all wind tunnel tests (really ?) will be blown out the window.
It's no wonder that the Koreans are edging ever so close to being the preferred option. They look every bit as good, or bad for that matter, but they have the reliability factor in their favour. However, also look at the styling of the i45 or the KIA Optima - I don't think that mercedes has anything in their price range to match them, even at double the price. The C-Class - lovely front end, the rest.......leaves me cold. There is also another, and new contender on the horizon - guess which one ?
