WOW, just WOW! Totally mental.... The acceleration is limitless & if it had wings it’d be airborne very rapidly. Hard to imagine a car could be quicker, but yes some are... Without traction & stability control I’m sure you’d be backing it into the bushes on a regular basis! M2 mode easy to adjust, but launch control difficult to engage. Couldn’t find how to adjust the interior mirror or trip meter it’s that complex. Stop start is annoying but easy to turn off.

After returning the car I was unable to do basic math, I think I was buzzing for the rest of the evening. Even the VF SSV & my AU V8 felt like Corollas afterward. A car like that is simply addictive. Glad I didn’t have to pay for the fuel or tyres!! :D:cool:

The launch control would drive me nuts so I’ll stick with old school! A coupla turbos would help of course, but I suspect the trans wouldn’t be up to the challenge....

Mark, time to get the 6.9s going - have you got any candidates likely to fulfil that role ? You know, talking about BMWs and their role as "driving machines" - my understanding is that few cars can match them dynamically, but I think the idea is to keep them for five years max and then move them on. Also remember, they're not cheap to buy new - 100 grand does not buy you very much. A really good friend of mine with a wife that has a bit of money to burn, tells me she has bought an X3 (?) powered by a 3 litre turbo charged Diesel and it sports torque figures of about 600 nms. - is that terminology correct ? Anyway, he owns an Australian complied 6.9 with a torque figure nearer to 500, and he reckons the 6.9 can't touch the BMW. Keep in mind though that the BImmer has about eight gears to play with. Regards Styria
