The W140 V12 is definitely a case of work by feel; if you lucky enough to get your hand in there! Even better if you can get your hand out again!!!

QC by water control if when a bucket of water is poured into the engine bay. Any hits the ground you know you have forgotten something.

I guess you could call this car the 'Black Hole'; drop something in the engine bay and not only will it not hit the ground, but you'll never see it again!!! Then there's the gravitational pull that'll suck up all your money!!

There is an old story that goes like this - if you want to buy a car you can work on, then look directly from atop the engine to the ground. If there is a foot of ground clearly visible on either side of the motor then buy it; if not, buy a mechanic instead...

There's another rule-of-thumb: If the fuel pump fails and there's no-where to pour a cap-full of petrol to see if it starts, then forget it!!!

And another: If it appears the engine's made of plastic.....
