Beautiful 6.9 just sold in NSW

Saw a beautiful Gold 6.9 at MB Classic Star today. It has just been purchased from Gosford. It was a one owner car (owner was apparently in his 90's) and it has 111,000 km on the clock. It is having a service for the new owner and new spheres. Can't tell you who the new owner is, but he owns a 600. That may help you to identify who the owner is.

I don't know the details of the new owner with his 600. As David says, we know the car quite well - previously owned by a German gentleman with a royal "von" name, and a coin collecter of some considerable note. He also owned a similarly coloured 450SE or SEL, and I wonder if he still has that particular car - it was, in fact, his preference over the 6.9.

Also a very keen Citroen owner, a passion shared by his wife who died probably about five years ago. Most vivacious, and enthusiastic lady, and a number of Club members were able to take part in a run that I organized to the gentleman's property situated on the waters of Gosford. It was a most pleasant and memorable occasion. Regards Styria

111,000kms since new wow!

Sure does sound like a very impressive car!

Before buying the 300SE I spoke to John at MB Classic Star, he had just sold a smoke silver 300SE with 140,000kms from memory.

Missed out on buying a very nice car.

I visited him and his wife some months after an MB outing to his waterfront home. I turned up on invitation, to polish out a scratch on the glass of the driver's door of a 280 SLC, that was his wife's drive car. At the completion of the job, he gave me an interesting coin to add to my collection, and his wife gave me a very enjoyable lunch time meal. Good fun had by all.

He had a motor cruiser about 100m offshore. It had about 30 or so seagulls on it.
"Watch this" he said to me. He produced what looked like a TV remote control, and pressed a button on it.
A loud horn, triggered by the remote control, went off.
The 30 or so seagulls vamoosed in a rapid hurry!
"That's how I keep my boat clean!".

I walked past his residence only a couple of weeks ago, as a member of a Heart Foundation Walking Group.
