There has been cooperation between Benz and the Nissan Renault Alliance for a while. However, rest assured that besides the bottom end, the rest is pure M-B.
Same as Fiat and GM use common engines..
The V6 block produced in Australia is also used in some Alfa Romeo cars albeit with different heads.

Nothing wrong with Renault Engines Helmet, it was just an academic question.
I guess all cars will gravitate to being kit cars, that's the way of the World today.......Sean

Shouldn't we all be a bit surprised to know that the crankshafts for the 6.0litre V12 are manufactured in China ? They may not be today, but at one stage they were. So......Regards Styria
N.B. I also remember the V6 engine that was a joint effort between Peugeot, Volvo and another manufacturer. Does anyone remember the disastrous reputation that the V6 Volvo engine gained - slipping liners, mixing of oil and coolant - you couldn't even give those cars away, such was their reputation.
BTW Michel, that's interesting information regarding the various applications and manufacturers.
