280se?

I have found a 1979 280se with a clutch that I am considering purchasing. The car is not currently a driver & I have been unable to find any information on this car.(hp, mpg,etc) Has anyone owned one? How are they to live with?
How do they compare with a 3.5 or 4.5 automatic car?
