248,106kms recent money has spent on the car but $30K does seem top dollar for a W116?

Looks like a lovely example for sure, but yeah, I can't imagine it getting a sale for that price.

It would certainly appear to have been much loved and cared for.Interesting to see manual window winders - I also tend to think that the caramel coloured interior is just about on a par with a Parchment coloured interior. Interesting also to note how attractive the Baroque wheels become once they are mated to White Wall tyres. That stripe really lifts the perceived increase in size of the rim, yet it is still 14".

That price - maybe a sign of things to come - and not before time. Regards. Styria

Love the colour.
Makes for a nice change from the usual Silver/Brown/Blue that seems to be the only combos.

Reality check on prices..... $48,000 for a 1982 380 SL Convertable at Shannon's Auction !
My 1981 280 SL was valued at $16000 . Why one third of the value. with a different engine ?
They recognise it to be an excellent Car with a higher spec, and probably as good the 380.

but,....... they say, because it is a Hong Kong Import and does not have the stamped log book History

Not to complain , the 280 will see me into the grave, as we say in the Emerald Isle

That's the first time my attention has been drawn to this substantial mileage. At that figure, my interest would be non-existent, in spite of the excellent condition the car presents in the pictures. Regards Styria

And here I was thinking less than 300,000 kms was pretty good for one of these old W116s

However yes, for the price you would hope for a really low mileage example. Unfortunately that seems not to be the case here, so I'd imagine we'll see another price drop before this one sells.

Price for the 280SE was $18,500 last week but I believe the car is no longer listed for sale?

Massive price drop but just maybe still to expensive?
