    450sl diff ratio

If your multimeter has the function (it will have settings for 4, 6 and 8 cylinder) you plug it into the terminals on the coil. otherwise you can probably get something cheap on ebay to do it if your multimeter doesn't have it.

Do you know the Tacho is correct? I suggest an electronic one that you can verify against the instrument on the dash. My multimeter has this function for example. Might be simple, but I know of a car that had multiple transmission rebuilds because the tacho indicated the trans was slipping...

    Full Size pickup trucks

No, you wouldn't have been out of place in Texas. But you might have been, had you rented the small sedan! Not many of those seen outside some of the technology parks in Dallas and Austin where IT types drive their camry to work!

    Full Size pickup trucks

Yes, having lived in America, there is a small contingent who really use the capability of their pickup. Generally not F150 owners though, normally owners of the F250 or F350 or equivalent. The author is right though, most use it to commute to the office. I had a ranger as a rental once...

    Full Size pickup trucks

This is an interesting thread on Twitter about Full Size pickup trucks in America and how they are used. In the last five years these have become increasingly popular in Australia too. Generally I agree with the sentiments of this thread. Content for those not on Twitter: Pick-up trucks...

Aftermarket alloy wheels for my 6.9

I've always been partial to the 15" pentas on the W116 with the AMG spoiler that Styria made up.

    Old Fuel

Might take a few days of 5,000 classics driving into the CBD and clogging things up before they realize there are quite a lot of us and we all vote!

LPG 6.9 for sale on Grays

An LPG car would be an instant no for me unless I am buying as a parts car. Some of those conversions were shockingly bad, and as a classic car fuel consumption is not the issue that it is for a daily commuter.

    Old Fuel

I think it will be much harder for the government to take this right away in countries like Australia, UK, USA with a thriving classic car movement and industry. Having said that, I think you're right and we as owners and enthusiasts will have to fight for it.

    My 1965 250SE Cabriolet

Turns out there are anchor points for lap/sash belts in the back of a W111 cabriolet. I found it hard to get a good answer to this question. https://www.classicjalopy.com/2021/07/w111-cabriolet-rear-seatbelts/

    Colours for the W126 model

I've seen plenty of Impala W126s for sale, 420SELs in particular. I would say its pretty popular. Bornite on the other hand is quite rare

    Old Fuel

I don't think classics will be outlawed. The amount of pollution they generate is negligible as they are just not used very much. There was quite a good video on Harry's garage that basically said the CO2 from running a classic for a year was about the same as single plane ticket from London...

    Rover P5 IOE engine rebuild

Good you've found somebody to take this on who knows what they are doing. Its a real issue with all the knowledge that is being lost as people retire.

    Old Fuel

I'm interested in the work Porsche are doing with synthetic fuels. Not only might it provide a good source of fuel for our classics, but they might not go off or be polluted with ethanol!

    Old Fuel

It certainly could be, but I've had the situation in the jag a few times with fuel 4-6 months old making the car not run as well as it should. Perhps there are so many more additives than there used to be?

    Old Fuel

I used one called STA-BIL. I've seen it here either at Supercheap or Repco. I know the owner of the shop I take my jag to recommends using a stabilizer to his customers that only take the cars out a few times per year for shows.

    Old Fuel

Interesting Brian. The DS is a mechanical pump, with no return line. The Jag on the other hand uses an electric pump with a return line so much more fuel is circulated around. I never noticed this on my traction avant, but being a pre-war design ran very low compression. Off the top of my...

    Old Fuel

I've noticed that fuel seems to be more and more sensitive about its age. Recently I had a few issues on my Citroen DS I was waiting to have repaired. This meant that by the time I had that done, the fuel in the tank was from March. Now I have it back I have been using it for errands...
